Happy Labor Day!

I hope you have the day off and are getting to do what you like — or at least like what you're getting done.
The unofficial end of summer always feels like more of a signpost than a cause to celebrate to me. Don’t get me wrong. I love fall, and football, cool nights, and crisp mornings. And Octoberfest is my favorite seasonal style of beer all year long! (The subject of an upcoming pipe release by the way.)

This three day weekend has always been bittersweet because while cookouts and an extra day off are great, it, along with earlier sunsets, announce the colder seasons to come. They all have their merit, and I’m thankful that I’ve lived all my life (save a year or two) here in Ohio so I can witness all four Mother Nature has to offer.

I guess I like the Summer for its practicality. There's so much daylight in which to be productive. And I think my reluctance to see it end is in no small part a holdover from being a school boy dreading going back to school!

Regardless, it’s nearly time to bring out the flannel and for the pack to get a little heavier in preparation for cooler nights. It's definitely the best time for backpacking and hiking. In that spirit I have a few new pipes for you in the Trailhead Collection:

Enjoy the weather and get outside!
