Another Muletown, come and gone

Another Muletown, come and gone

Another awesome weekend with friends, both old and new, from the pipe community, at the coolest venue for a show. This year saw the highest attendance yet, due in no small part to the people who run the place. Pete and the whole crew at Briarworks do a hell of a job putting this event together. There’s something cool about being at a show that’s in an American pipe making facility. And it doesn’t hurt that said facility is attached to a lounge with a bar and humidor! Ask anyone who’s attended and they’ll tell you the same thing. This is one of the best shows, if not the best show of the year.

I almost missed out on a table this year! I heard the announcement that they were on sale, and by the time I went to the website, I was greeted with a notice stating “SOLD OUT.”

Panicked, I got in touch with Briarworks. “Yeh, we sold out in three hours!”

Wow! Great news for them, not so much for me.

So I starting planning a trip where I’d attend the show selling pipes from inside a trench coat and out of my trunk! Then, I heard through the grapevine (Pipe and Tobacco Talk with Tim & Jim) that my friend Bradley at BG Woodworx had a table, but may not be able to make it. I got in touch and Bradley came through. Turned out that he did send his excellent stands and trays along with friends Joe and Kerrick (had a blast with those two) who manned half the table representing BG, allowing me to set up the other half.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi, and to those of you who bought a pipe (or two!). It was definitely a successful show. I sold a couple hats and shirts and other accessories, but most importantly 13 of the 14 pipes that I brought went home with happy show goers. I’m truly humbled and honored to have so many great people appreciate what I create. Thanks so much.
