It's Oktoberfest! A new collection

It's Oktoberfest! A new collection

Fall is continuing its slow reveal here in central Ohio while temperatures hang around 80° during the day, and flirt with the high 50°’s at night.

The sound of football on the tube fills the shop on the weekends, the leaves are just starting to turn and come loose, and my favorite flavored beverage is widely available. No, I’m not talking about pumpkin spice anything! I’ll leave that to those who believe a milkshake can identify as coffee if the barista says so.

I’m talking about the best thing to come out of Bavaria: Beer! More specifically, the beers that fall under the seasonal release of Octoberfest. I love the stuff, and from late August till whenever they stop gracing the shelves at the store, I pick up a six or two whenever I pass through to hoard well into the winter.

While not my first choice to pop the top on after some of the final mows of the grass when it’s still a bit sticky, it is the best in cool evenings with friends and a fire, or in sweet solitude with a pipe. Whether it's Dunkel, Märzen, or Dortmunder, I’m here for it.
This pipe release is commemorating the annual festival in Munich that has been held since 1810, and the brews associated with it. I’ve tried to capture the appearance of the amber hued Märzen, (my favorite) and used iridescent light blue and white stems for a nod to the Bavarian flag.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them! Thanks, as always, for supporting Ohio Briar!
