Last month, my wife and I checked out the NASPC 2022 pipe swap sell show
in Columbus, Ohio, just a hop down the highway from where we live. We had a fantastic time checking out all the tobacco pipes for sale, as well as the pipe making supplies and tons of related accessories.
Just like when we went to Muletown in the spring, we were so impressed by the spirit of camaraderie among pipe people.
A wide variety of tobacco pipes for sale
It’s amazing to see the craftsmanship, artistry and range of the work of independent carvers.
We really enjoyed chatting with fellow artisans and getting the opportunity to learn from them and see some of the best tobacco pipes around.
There were also tons of estate pipes for sale, and I even scored a beautiful restoration for myself: a Savinelli from Mad Pipes.
Pipe making supplies
I left with a few more blocks of briar that I couldn’t pass up, even though I had some waiting for me at the shop back home. Vermont Freehand was there with a bunch of great briar, as well as RawKrafted and Tim West.
And of course there were many tins of pipe tobacco for sale.
Pipe show haul
All in all, we had a great time (including getting to meet a couple Instagram friends in real life). Here’s what I walked away with:
Day 1
Day 2
I'll definitely be back to the Ohio show again, hopefully next time as a vendor.
